– Kingbridge has developed a Forest Management plan for 67 acres of forested land onsite and has a “Managed Forest” designation with the Province of Ontario.
– These forests sequester an estimated 2.5M worth of carbon stock annually.
– We have invested in the future of Ontario’s forests by creating a tree nursery for at-risk native species. We have planted over 2150 seedlings on property.
– Multiple fresh water Hydration stations are installed in order to reduce single-use plastics and promote sustainable practices.
– We have constructed and maintain a 5400 square foot permaculture garden designed with Hugelkultur principles populated with pollinator plants, which are indigenous to the area, and provide fresh, locally grown produce for our kitchen. It reduces our carbon footprint by minimizing transportation needs and using natural materials from our forest to create raised garden beds that improve soil fertility and reduce water consumption.
– Kingbridge has also invested in our on property Apiary that in peak season is home to 500,000 honeybees producing over 400 pounds of honey. Our bees support the biodiversity of our 113-acre property. They serve a vital role in pollinating diverse plants, providing habitat and food for other wildlife.
– Kingbridge actively sources any available produce and other food items within 100 kilometers and has partnerships with King Township producers.
